A Moonwort is a small fern. I am sorry to say I inadvertently sat on one today up near Carperby. I only know this because after a while sat there I heard the sound of a stifled lament. Once on my feet I listened carefully to the Moonwort's sad song of woe and determined to memorise it as best I could then write it down when I got home and relate the tale of how I came by it. So here you are. The Moonwort sang with a fairly flexible rhythm, but that may have been because I had sat on it.
